An eSIM is the digital equivalent of the SIM card used to store carrier information such as your phone number and plan.

Apple iPhone XS, XS Max and XR use embedded SIM technology; Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL also utilize it.

However, iPhones purchased within mainland China cannot support eSIM activation.

Samsung

Apple, Samsung and Google have all adopted eSIM technology on their flagship smartphones. Many eSIM-compatible phones also support dual SIM functionality – meaning you can keep two phone numbers or data contracts active at the same time on one device.

Current iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S22 suite and Galaxy Z Fold 5G smartphones as well as Google Pixel 3A/3XL/3AXL devices support eSIM cards – different than Motorola Razr flip phones which were the first eSIM phones ever produced.

If you own a Samsung device, verify its support of eSIM by accessing Settings – About Phone – Network lock status and selecting Unlocked from its drop down list. This should allow you to switch providers while still using one device.

LG

LG is a global technology leader and produces an expansive selection of consumer electronics, home appliances, mobile phones, solar energy systems and other products for consumers and businesses worldwide. LG also maintains a presence on the global business-to-business (B2B) market.

Jeong-do Management, which can be translated to “ethical management”, is at the core of the company’s management philosophy and represents their core belief: fair and transparent management practices will lead to success for their business.

LG smart devices feature webOS, one of the most sophisticated and beautiful platforms available. Boasting a stylish interface and having been thoroughly revised in 2021, webOS now supports dual SIMs allowing for calls/SMS use on one line and data access on another cellular line.

Your experience may have been of swapping SIM cards when switching phones or traveling internationally, but all that may soon change with eSIM-compatible devices. Now you can instantly switch plans when your contract ends or want to try out a different network without swapping SIMs manually.

Oppo was one of the first companies to release phones with embedded SIMs (eSIM), and recently unveiled the world’s first 5G standalone (SA) compatible eSIM which can connect you with new low latency 5G networks worldwide. The Find X3 Pro features this groundbreaking innovation so users can take advantage of low latency networks worldwide.

OnePlus

Android phones and smartwatches typically support embedded SIM (eSIM). An embedded SIM serves the same function as traditional SIM cards; its programs can easily be changed, making switching carriers or cancelling and restarting services simpler than ever.

Some MVNOs – such as Boost Mobile, Mint Mobile, Visible and Xfinity Mobile — provide electronic SIM support. You can verify whether or not your phone is compatible by visiting your carrier’s website and searching their compatibility list.
